Peg City CBL brings Manitoba club basketball teams together for structured league competition throughout the year.
Athletes participate through independent basketball clubs. Players must try out for and earn a roster spot with a participating club team before competing in CBL.

The Peg City Club Basketball League provides the competition environment in which independent clubs compete.
Depending on the season, CBL includes:
*Players do not register for a CBL team directly through Peg City. Your athlete must first join a participating club. The club will provide its own tryout information, player fees, practice schedule and team-specific details.
Fall/Winter CBL - October to March
For 11U-14U club teams.
Teams compete throughout the winter season, culminating in the CBL Championship Playoffs.

For 11U-18U club teams.
The Spring Target Score Series extends the club season with a different style of competition built around Target Score format.

Road to NationalsBeginning in 2026-27, Peg City CBL is Manitoba's official qualification pathway to the Canada Basketball 14U Club National Championships.
The top two boys' teams and two girls' teams that advance to the 14U CBL Finals will be selected to represent Manitoba at the inaugural Club National Championships in Niagara Falls, Ontario, over the May Long Weekend in 2027.
National Championship entry fees will be covered for Manitoba's qualifying teams.
This gives Manitoba athletes the opportunity to earn their place on a national stage through their performance in CBL competition.

Most CBL games are played at Winnipeg basketball facilities including:

To support Clubs and Coach availability, CBL games will not be scheduled on Showcase weekends, including:
1. Find a participating club
Independent clubs hold their own tryouts, typically beginning in August. View Club Tryout Information
2. Try out for a team
Roster selection is managed by each individual club.
3. Register with your club
Your club determines its player fees, practices, uniforms, tournament schedule and other team costs.
4. Complete your Peg City player registration
Once your club registers its team in CBL, parents receive an invitation to complete the required player registration in RAMP.
*Only registered players may participate in CBL games.
Can I register my child directly with Peg City?
No. Players participate through independent club teams.
How much does CBL cost?
Player fees are established by each individual club. Contact your club for its complete season fees and what those fees include.
Does Peg City run the clubs?
No. Participating clubs operate independently. Peg City organizes and administers the CBL competition.
When are tryouts?
Most clubs begin tryouts in August. Exact dates vary by club.
Can my child's team qualify for Nationals?
Eligible 14U teams can qualify through the CBL Championship pathway.
Can my athlete also play in the Spring Target Score Series?
Yes. Spring participation is determined by each club. If your athlete is interested in continuing into the Spring Target Score Series, reach out to your club and let them know you’d like their team to participate.
